SALALAH: Dhofar Governorate, through the Salalah Resilience Hub, on Tuesday organised an exhibition to mark the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, observed on October 13 each year. Held at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah under the theme "Resilience begins at home", the event drew representatives of government units, private sector establishments and civil society organisations. It targeted community members, educational institutions, innovators and others interested in disaster risk reduction.

The exhibition featured a children's corner, cultural and educational competitions and a "Storyteller" show sharing stories and lessons from handling crises. A special edition of "Murshid" magazine was also launched to raise children's awareness of disaster risk reduction and the family's role in keeping homes safe.

The event is part of Salalah's efforts to strengthen urban resilience after the city was designated a global resilience hub under the Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030) initiative. — ONA
