MUSCAT: The Royal Academy of Management launched a Leadership Programme for members of the Majlis Ash’shura to strengthen their leadership capabilities and support the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The programme focuses on four key areas: leadership; strategic planning and integrated work; policies, legislation and decision-making; protocol, foreign policy and diplomacy; and public communication and media appearances.
These areas aim to help Majlis Ash’shura members examine issues from multiple perspectives and apply modern tools and methodologies in their work and committee activities, in line with development priorities and citizens’ aspirations.
Dr Ali bin Qasim al Lawati, President of the Royal Academy of Management, said the programme reflects the Academy’s commitment to supporting national institutions in developing leadership capabilities and improving performance efficiency.
He highlighted the Majlis Ash’shura’s role in national development through its legislative and oversight responsibilities, as well as its members’ understanding of societal issues and citizens’ aspirations.
The nine-day executive learning programme is divided into two units and covers four main tracks, with the diplomacy component delivered in cooperation with the Diplomatic Academy.
Its practical modules include modern leadership in Shura councils, strategic performance indicators for Oman Vision 2040, legislative analysis, evidence-based policymaking, economic security, sustainable economic diversification, Oman's foreign policy and international relations, and strategic communication with the media.
The programme reflects the Academy’s broader approach to developing national leaders through modern management practices, with the aim of enhancing efficiency, productivity and innovation and preparing leaders to contribute to the country’s future development. - ONA
