Oman shine with two wins at international skate ball

The Oman Skate Ball Tournament 2026 concludes on Friday at the Ibri Sports Club Indoor Hall, bringing the curtain down on three days of international competition featuring teams from Asia, Africa and Europe.

The concluding programme will feature the decisive matches, followed by the awards ceremony and the crowning of the champions.

Results recorded through the end of the second day highlighted several high-scoring victories alongside closely fought encounters, with Oman producing two notable performances.

Oman continued their strong run, following their opening-day 9-0 victory over Iraq with a closely fought 3-2 win against Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia responded strongly in another fixture, recording the biggest victory of the second-day results with a 15-0 win over Iraq.

DOUBLE WINS FOR POLAND

Egypt also displayed considerable attacking strength in a 13-2 victory over India. Poland registered two important wins, defeating Pakistan 7-2 before overcoming Egypt 5-3 in another competitive encounter.

Elsewhere, the United Arab Emirates secured a 4-2 victory against Saudi Arabia, while Pakistan defeated India 3-0.

The second-day results reflected the differing technical levels and playing styles represented at the tournament. While several matches were decided by wide margins, the encounters between Oman and Saudi Arabia, Poland and Egypt; and the UAE and Saudi Arabia produced closer contests.

The championship has given the participating players an opportunity to gain international experience and compete against teams representing different tactical approaches and schools of play.

The event is organised by the Oman Skating Sports Committee under the supervision of the World Skate Ball Federation. It forms part of ongoing efforts to expand the sport’s presence in the Sultanate of Oman and provide local players with greater international exposure.

Attention now turns to Friday's concluding matches, when the final positions will be determined and the tournament champions crowned following three days of competition in Ibri.
