Port of Duqm has successfully handled 4,600+ vehicles from a Ro-Ro vessel operated by COSCO, demonstrating the terminal’s growing capability to manage high-volume vehicle movements and support the efficient distribution of automotive cargo to GCC markets.
The operation demonstrates the Ro-Ro terminal’s ability to manage high-volume vehicle movements while accommodating different categories of rolling cargo within a single vessel operation. The terminal provides dedicated facilities for Ro-Ro cargo, supporting the smooth movement of vehicles between vessel operations and onward land transportation.
The scale and diversity of the cargo also highlight the terminal’s operational flexibility, particularly in handling vehicle volumes associated with regional automotive distribution networks.
From vessel discharge through terminal handling and dispatch, the operation supports an integrated flow designed to move vehicles efficiently towards their final markets.
Located within the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, Port of Duqm provides a maritime gateway for international vehicle flows into Oman and the wider GCC. Its position on the Arabian Sea offers direct access to international shipping routes, while its connection to Oman’s road network facilitates onward distribution across the region.
