Khareef visitors near half a million

July accounted for the largest share of the total number of visitors at 95.5 per cent

SALALAH: The number of Khareef Dhofar Season visitors records a 6.9 per cent increase during the period from June 21 to July 31, 2026, compared to the same period in 2025, bringing the total number of visitors to 472,449, compared to 442,100 visitors during the corresponding period last year. This data is according to preliminary estimates of Khareef Dhofar Season 2026 visitor numbers issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).


The estimated data showed that Omani visitors constituted the largest proportion of total visitors at 76.3 per cent, recording 360,531 visitors compared to 334,399 visitors during the same period in 2025. They were followed by GCC visitors at 16.6 per cent, with a total of 78,356 visitors compared to 69,801 visitors in the corresponding period last year.


Meanwhile, the number of visitors from other nationalities reached 33,562, accounting for 7.1 per cent of the total visitors, compared to 37,900 visitors during the same period in 2025.


The data also indicated a 9.6 per cent rise in the number of visitors arriving via air flights, reaching 117,551 visitors, compared to 107,254 visitors during the same period in 2025. Meanwhile, the number of visitors arriving via land borders rose by 5.9 per cent to 354,898 visitors, compared to 334,846 visitors during the corresponding period last year.


Regarding the distribution of visitors by time period, the month of July 2026 accounted for the largest share of the total number of visitors at 95.5 per cent, with the number of visitors from July 1 to July 31 reaching 451,355, compared to 421,506 visitors during the same period in 2025.


Additionally, the number of visitors during the period from June 21 to June 30, 2026, reached 21,094, compared to 20,594 visitors during the corresponding period last year. — ONA
