MUSCAT: Muscat Governorate has launched an intensive week-long training programme aimed at strengthening the leadership, innovation and public service capabilities of its employees as part of its strategy to invest in national talent and enhance institutional performance.

The programme, which began on Sunday, targets senior and middle-management employees, equipping them with modern knowledge and practical skills to lead change, improve workplace performance and develop innovative solutions for public service delivery.

A spokesperson for the Governorate’s office said the initiative reflects Muscat Governorate’s commitment to developing human capital and fostering a culture of leadership and innovation.

“The week-long programme is designed to strengthen the leadership and innovative capabilities of Muscat Governorate employees while enhancing their ability to contribute to institutional excellence,” the spokesperson said.

The training combines theoretical and practical learning. The theoretical component covers innovative leadership, strategic and creative thinking, digital transformation and institutional innovation, providing participants with contemporary leadership concepts and tools to support informed decision-making and organisational excellence.

The practical component includes interactive workshops, case studies of successful local and international experiences, and collaborative group projects. These activities are designed to strengthen teamwork, planning and implementation skills while enabling participants to transform innovative ideas into practical workplace initiatives.

At the conclusion of the programme, participants will develop improvement projects and preliminary implementation plans for their respective workplaces. They will also prepare personal development plans to enhance their leadership and innovation competencies, with progress assessed through pre- and post-training evaluations.
