SALALAH: Oman Housing Bank has launched the country's first digital waiting list platform for housing finance, allowing citizens to register electronically for home loan financing as part of the bank's wider digital transformation strategy.
The platform was unveiled during the opening of the real estate exhibition held alongside the Dhofar Autumn Festival 2026 under the auspices of Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
The new system enables applicants to join the housing finance waiting list online without visiting bank branches during the initial stages of the application process.
The launch also marks the start of processing 1,252 housing finance applications submitted during April and May across the bank's branches, with a combined financing value exceeding RO 63.00 million.
Applicants can create an online account, submit personal and employment details, select financing preferences and upload supporting documents electronically. The platform will also provide notifications throughout each stage of the application process until customers are invited to complete the financing procedures.
The initiative forms part of the bank's "Book Your Turn" campaign, which aims to simplify access to housing finance while expanding digital government services.
Musa bin Masoud al Jadidi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Housing Bank, said the platform represented a major step in the bank's digital transformation programme in line with Oman Vision 2040.
He said the new system redesigns the customer journey by allowing citizens to begin the financing process online, reducing branch visits and shortening waiting times.
Al Jadidi added that the platform would improve operational efficiency, accelerate housing finance approvals and support national urban development objectives.
He said the bank would continue investing in digital technologies and plans to introduce additional smart services to make housing finance faster and more accessible while strengthening its role as a development-focused financial institution. — ONA
