Oman's national youth handball team will aim to end its 19th Asian Men's Youth Handball Championship campaign on a positive note when it faces Chinese Taipei on Tuesday, following a 33-23 defeat to Bahrain in Zhuzhou, China. After a closely contested first half, which ended 15-13 in Bahrain's favour, Oman struggled to maintain its intensity after the break as fatigue allowed Bahrain to extend its lead.
The coaching staff immediately shifted focus to the decisive final match, holding recovery and light tactical sessions to prepare the players. Team administrator Ahmed bin Rashid al Jassasi praised the squad's commitment and revealed that the head of delegation, Amir al Dughaishi, has promised a financial reward if Oman secures victory. Assistant coach Yahya al Maashani said the team had shown strong concentration in the first half but paid the price for fatigue later on. Players also expressed confidence in bouncing back, stressing their determination to finish the tournament with a positive performance while gaining valuable international experience.
