Muscat: The death toll has risen to 51 due to the floods and landslides triggered by the heavy rain in Bangladesh.

Local officials report that 7 out of the country’s 64 administrative areas have been inundated by floods, affecting more than one million people, while several remain isolated because of the floods. This disaster mirrors a previous event that resulted in the death of 44.

Bangladesh is one of the most vulnerable countries to natural disasters, as annual heavy rains consistently cause widespread floods and landslides.
