MUSCAT: The Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies celebrated the graduation of the 39th cohort of the Joint Command and Staff College. The event took place at its headquarters in Bait Al Falaj, under the auspices of Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, Minister of Interior, and in the presence of Maj Gen Hamid bin Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies.


Brigadier Mohammed bin Ahmed al Mashikhi, Commandant of the Joint Command and Staff College, stated in his address that the College continues to implement its development and modernisation plans in line with the requirements of the present and the anticipated challenges of the future. This is achieved through the advancement of the education and training system, the enhancement of quality programmes and various excellence initiatives, all aligned with the rapid transformations in military sciences and modern technologies.


Subsequently, the Minister of Interior, the patron of the ceremony, presented awards to the top-ranking participants of the cohort and conferred certificates upon the graduates.


The 39th Joint Command and Staff Course is one of the specialised academic programmes designed to prepare and qualify officers for operational-level roles, equipping them with military knowledge and sciences through the latest curricula and training methodologies.


The 39th cohort commenced in August 2025, with the participation of officers from the Ministry of Defence, the Sultan's Armed Forces, other military and security services, as well as a number of officers from the GCC countries and several Arab and friendly nations. - ONA
