Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik gave an audience to Dr. Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of the Parliament in the Islamic Republic of Iran, along with his accompanying delegation and Dr. Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at Al Barakah Palace.
During the meeting, the latest developments in the Iran–US negotiations were reviewed, with His Majesty listening to clarifications from the Iranian side on the various tracks of the talks.
His Majesty expressed support for the ongoing diplomatic efforts, voicing hope that the negotiations would succeed in reaching a peaceful and comprehensive settlement to all outstanding issues. He underlined, in particular, the importance of restoring safe and unhindered navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, alongside addressing the nuclear file and other related regional challenges.
