MUSCAT: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, received a phone call from Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission.

The two sides exchanged views on the latest regional developments amid the rapidly evolving situation in the region and the challenges it poses to security, stability and maritime navigation.

Both officials underscored the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation, containing tensions, and preventing the region from sliding into a comprehensive confrontation that would carry significant costs for regional countries, their peoples and international peace and security.

They also stressed that diplomacy remains the best path to overcoming the crisis and creating the conditions necessary for the safe and regular resumption of maritime traffic, safeguarding vital sea lanes and ensuring the security of global supply chains and international trade.
