British singer Charli xcx has announced she will release her seventh studio album, "Music, Fashion, Film", this summer.

The chart topper, known for songs including "Boom Clap", "I Love It" and her "Brat" album, which sparked a cultural phenomenon, said that the upcoming 11-track record will be released on July 24.

Charli xcx, whose real name is Charlotte Aitchison, posted a black-and-white photo believed to be the cover of the new record, featuring musician John Cale, fashion designer Marc Jacobs and filmmaker Martin Scorsese.

The image features the unexpected trio gathered in a room, with Jacobs in the background leaning against a wall while Velvet Underground founder Cale and Oscar-winner Scorsese sit at a shabby table with an ashtray on it.

Beneath the post, the 33-year-old singer told her 9.1 million fans: "My new album Music, Fashion, Film is out July 24th. 11 songs, 30 minutes, 5 seconds. Available to pre-order now, love you xx".

The comments were flooded with excitement from fans and fellow stars such as US designer Jacobs, who wrote: "Thank you Charli. So grateful to be included".

The star followed the announcement with a post on her @b.sides Instagram account, appearing to tease new music from the upcoming album. The video featured the singer alongside the album title.

The post quickly circulated online, drawing further attention from fans who have been closely following her recent releases and creative direction, with discussions spreading across social media platforms and music forums.

Along with a string of new releases, Charli also recently hosted an impromptu In Conversation fan event and DJ set on Friday with her husband, The 1975 drummer George Daniel, where she previewed new material to attendees, adding to anticipation around the project.

Her latest project comes after she released a "Wuthering Heights" companion album to Emerald Fennell's film of the same name earlier this year, as well as the "Brat" album, which went on to become a defining pop release and sparked a widespread cultural moment across social media.

The "Brat summer" trend triggered a wave of online engagement, influencing fashion choices and digital aesthetics, with its neon green and black visual identity becoming widely recognisable.

Earlier this year, the singer also starred in "The Moment", a semi-fictional film exploring the release of Brat and the world tour that followed and appeared in other film projects including Pete Ohs' "Erupcja" and Julia Jackman's "100 Nights Of Hero".

Charli has had two UK number one singles and three number one albums, cementing her status as one of Britain’s most influential pop artists. — dpa
