Muscat: The Ministry of Social Development organised the Innovation Bootcamp (Six ‘I’s Innovation Methodology) at the Child Care Centre and Youth Homes, aiming to strengthen the innovation capacity of staff and enable them to transform ideas into sustainable impact-driven projects.
The implementation of this camp comes within the Ministry’s efforts to empower work teams and develop their skills in institutional innovation, contributing to supporting initiatives directed at children and youth, and transforming ideas into implementable entrepreneurial projects.
Dr Maryam Tubeileh, Innovation Innovation Bootcamp Trainer, Founder and CEO of MT Management, stated that applying the Six ‘I’s Innovation Methodology contributes to building an institutional culture capable of transforming ideas into valuable projects. She emphasized that “this methodology enables individuals to move from a mere creative idea to a viable project, service, or product with real impact.”
She explained that the Ministry is among the first entities in the Sultanate of Oman to apply this methodology in a practical manner, noting that the program focuses on empowering participants with innovation tools and applying them in a real work environment.
She added that the the Six ‘I’s Innovation Methodology has been implemented in several international institutions, where it contributed to developing innovation team practices and improving the utilization of skills and capabilities within organizations, leading to higher efficiency in performance.
She affirmed that adopting such programmes aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 in building an innovative work environment and enhancing human resource efficiency, stressing the importance of simplifying innovation methodologies to make them applicable across different institutions.
She further noted that the Bootcamp aims to empower the “Pioneering Tomorrow” team to develop their abilities in transforming ideas into entrepreneurial projects that serve children and youth, including those in child care centers and youth homes, helping them achieve sustainable income.
She pointed out that the programme is based on practical training and hands-on application, in addition to a prior assessment of each participant’s innovation skills according to the methodology criteria, enhancing the understanding of strengths and their effective utilization within the team.
On her part, Muthla Bint Rashid al Faliti, Head of Programms and Training Department said, “Through this workshop, we aim to empower children in the Child Care Centre and Youth Homes to transform their ideas into entrepreneurial projects under the ‘Pioneering Tomorrow’ initiative during 2026,” expressing aspirations for these projects to participate locally and internationally in forums, exhibitions, and festivals.
For his part, Mohammed bin Amir al Harbi, Social Specialist at the Ministry of Social Development in the Child Care Centre and Youth Homes, stated that the Bootcamp helped clarify the concept of innovation and the mechanism of developing ideas and transforming them into market-ready projects, emphasizing that success requires excellence and the ability to offer differentiated value in a competitive environment.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Social Development is considered one of the leading entities in the Sultanate of Oman in adopting the Six ‘I’s Innovation Methodology, aiming to enhance team efficiency and enable youth and orphans to launch entrepreneurial projects that provide sustainable income, in addition to strengthening a culture of knowledge transfer within society.
