

AMSTERDAM: The Omani Village in the Nijmegen province of the Kingdom of the Netherlands hosted a lecture titled "Omanis: A Maritime Nation Connecting East and West – Omani-Dutch Relations as a Model," presented by Shaikh Dr Abdullah bin Salim al Harthy, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
During the lecture, the ambassador addressed the historical and economic significance of Omani maritime passages, reviewing the most prominent seaports and their role in linking trade routes between the East and West.
He also highlighted the Sultanate of Oman's vision for diversifying income sources and enhancing the contribution of the maritime and logistics sectors to economic development. He further discussed Omani-Dutch relations and the growing cooperation across various fields, supported by the historical and humanitarian ties shared between the two nations.
The event concluded with an introductory tour of the Omani Village, where attendees observed features of authentic Omani heritage reflecting the maritime, agricultural, and cultural diversity that embodies the ancient Omani civilisation and its historical role in building bridges of civilised communication between peoples. - ONA
