An Israeli strike in Lebanon's eastern Bekaa valley killed four people on May 6, while the Israeli army said it struck Hezbollah targets in the south, after warning residents of a dozen towns to evacuate. Israel and Hezbollah have been trading accusations of violating the ceasefire agreement in force since April 17.

The Israeli military has said 200 fighters from Hezbollah have been killed since the ceasefire began in Lebanon three weeks ago. "In recent weeks, more than 220 fighters and commanders from Hezbollah, who posed a threat to Israeli soldiers and civilians, have been eliminated," the Israeli army said in a statement. Upon inquiry, it was clarified that this refers to the period since the ceasefire was announced three weeks ago. - dpa
