MUSCAT: Domino’s Pizza/Barangay Ginebra Oman (BGO) staged a strong comeback following a

heartbreaking loss in their previous outing against Team Excellence, edging out Team Bisdak Al Haseena Jewellers, 93–88, in the ongoing OPBL 6.0 Basketball Tournament at the Oman Club Basketball Court.

Leading the charge was Ezekiel 'Kiel' Moralde, who delivered an all-around performance with 19 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists to earn Player of the Game honours. Moralde’s relentless drives and ability to penetrate the defence proved decisive, consistently putting pressure on Bisdak throughout the contest.

Despite missing key player Ayman al Shraiqi, BGO showcased impressive depth and teamwork. Significant contributions came from Karl Lorion, Froilan Busquit, Garner Lazo, Joshua Alcarde, Gerald Alepio, Anton Tan, Luel Guloy, Benjie Oliveros, Ryan Janda, and Andrew Tibayan, all of whom stepped up to keep the team competitive.

Co-rookie sensation Mark Celiza provided a crucial boost, displaying energy and grit on both ends of the floor. He finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists, highlighted by timely putbacks and tenacious defence that helped secure the victory.

With the win, Domino’s BGO rebounded in the standings and move into solo-second place in the elimination round, trailing only the unbeaten Team Excellence led by Coach Del Upam.

Team Manager/Coach, Allan Minoza stated that he is proud of the team and showed a lot of resilience and composure in getting back on the winning track. He also expressed his thanks to playing coach Froilan Busquit for taking the added responsibility of leading the team and Team Manager Anwaar Razmi of Dominos Pizza, who always maintained his strong support for the team.

In the earlier matchup, Team Excellence extended their undefeated run with a 93–87 victory over KFT/CCC Team. Rookie standout Dieter Amorin once again dazzled, erupting for 37 points in another dominant performance. His consistent scoring displays have energised supporters and established him as one of the tournament’s biggest revelations, firmly placing him on track for a potential MVP-caliber season.

The OPBL 6.0 Basketball Tournament is organised by Chairman Alain Garcia, with support from Harold Hilario, Ruby Garcia and Richmond Espeja. Officiating duties are led by Head Referee Ronnie Salansan. All games are held at the Oman Club Basketball Courts in Al Khuwair.
