An official talks session was held on Thursday at the Akorda Presidential Palace in the capital, Astana, co-chaired by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan and HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.
During the session, the two sides discussed areas of economic and investment cooperation between the two countries and ways to develop and enhance them across various sectors for the mutual benefit of their peoples, while emphasising the importance of intensified coordination and cooperation to expand partnership opportunities.
The discussions also reviewed available investment opportunities in both countries to forge new avenues of partnership and exchange of expertise and knowledge in several economic, investment and developmental fields.
The session was attended from the Omani side by Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large at the Foreign Ministry, and Mohammed bin Abdullah al Bahrani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Meanwhile, it was attended from the Kazakh side by Roman Sklyar, First Deputy Prime Minister, Nurlan Zhakupov, CEO of Samruk-Kazyna, Nurlan Baibazarov, Assistant to the President for Economic Affairs; Yerlan Akkenzhenov Minister of Energy, Lazar Yernar, Advisor to the President for International Affairs and Aidarbek Tumatov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Sultanate of Oman.
Earlier, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received at Akorda Presidential Palace HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said.
At the outset of the meeting, the President welcomed HH Sayyid Theyazin and his accompanying delegation as distinguished guests of Kazakhstan.
For his part, HH Sayyid Theyazin expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the President for the warm welcome and hospitality.
He conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the President of Kazakhstan, along with His Majesty's best wishes of success to President Tokayev in leading the Kazakh people and realising their aspirations for further progress and prosperity.
In turn, the President asked HH Sayyid Theyazin to convey his greetings and sincere wishes to His Majesty the Sultan, wishing Him good health and well-being, and the Omani people further development and prosperity.
The two sides exchanged discussions on a number of matters of mutual interest. They also reviewed the good relations that bind the two countries. - ONA
