The Oman national teams have intensified preparations for participation in the 6th Asian Beach Games – Sanya 2026, as the beach handball team opens its campaign today with matches against Mongolia and Qatar. The squad, led by coach Hamoud bin Salem al Hassani, enters a highly competitive group aiming to secure qualification among the top teams, following focused technical and physical preparations.

Meanwhile, the beach soccer team continues its training camp ahead of its opening match against Palestine on Thursday, under the guidance of Talib bin Hilal al Thanawi, with aspirations to repeat its historic success in the inaugural edition.

In athletics, the national team has arrived in Sanya to compete in various events, including sprints and jumps, as part of efforts to enhance performance in sand-based competitions. Oman is participating in five sports, seeking to add to its tally of 17 medals in the history of the Asian Beach Games.
