MOROCCO: Dr Laila bint Ahmed al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, and Naima Ben Yahya, Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family of the Kingdom of Morocco, held a meeting on Saturday.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in social and family fields and exchange expertise to support family issues and promote social development in both countries.

They also reviewed several topics, including social welfare, the protection of children, families, and the elderly, programmes for empowering people with disabilities and mechanisms for women’s empowerment.

The Moroccan experience in organising and developing social welfare institutions, enhancing the skills of workers in the social sector, and strengthening partnerships with civil society organisations was also discussed. The meeting also addressed the disability sector and the programmes offered to people with disabilities to enhance their access to various services.

Dr Laila bint Ahmed al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, also met with Abdeljabbar Rachidi, Secretary of State in charge of Social Integration in the Kingdom of Morocco. Discussions focused on social inclusion, the regulatory and legislative frameworks for protecting and supporting people with disabilities and the health and social services provided to them.

On the sidelines of the visit, Dr Laila met with Dr Salim bin Mohammed al Malik, Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), at the organisation’s headquarters in Rabat, in the presence of Khalid bin Salim Bamkhalif, Ambassador of Oman to Morocco.
