Round 20 of the Jindal League produced another decisive set of results at both ends of the table, with Al Shabab recording the biggest win of the round, Seeb tightening their grip on top spot, and Al Nasr maintaining the pressure with another important victory.
At Nizwa Sports Complex, Al Shabab produced a ruthless attacking display to overwhelm Samayil 7-0 and strengthen their push for a top-four finish. The side imposed itself from the outset and effectively settled the contest before the interval with a four-goal first half. Maliko Kinyan opened the scoring in the 13th minute, before Hatem al Rushdi doubled the lead in the 28th. Kinyan then struck again in the 33rd minute and completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 39th to cap a dominant opening half. Al Shabab maintained the same intensity after the break, adding three more goals through Halidi Luwalia in the 50th minute, Yousef al Shabibi in the 62nd, and Mohammed al Ghafri in the 86th. The victory lifted Al Shabab to 44 points in third place, while Samayil remained 10th on 19 points after another difficult outing.
SEEB EXTEND LEAD
Leaders Seeb claimed a valuable 2-0 away win over Saham at Sohar Sports Complex, moving on to 51 points. Mohammed al Musalmi opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a header from a free-kick delivered by Ali al Busaidi. Seeb continued to look the more dangerous side, with Nasser al Rawahi going close before the break, while Saham were unable to make their attacking moments count. The result was secured in the 63rd minute when Ali al Busaidi made space near the edge of the area and fired home Seeb’s second. Saham remained ninth on 21 points.
AL NASR STAY SECOND
At Al Saada Sports Complex, Al Nasr kept up the chase with a 2-0 win over Al Khabourah in a match watched by Oman coach Tarik Sektioui. After a competitive first half, Al Nasr took control after the interval and finally broke through in the 56th minute when Abdulhafidh Hadid found the net. Substitute Abdullah al Musharafi sealed the points with a second goal in the 86th minute. The victory lifted Al Nasr to 45 points in second place, while Al Khabourah dropped to 12th on 16 points.
