MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik gave an audience at Al Barakah Palace on Tuesday to Shaikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad al Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait.

During the audience, the Kuwaiti minister conveyed greetings and best wishes of Shaikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, to His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani people.

On his turn, His Majesty asked the minister to convey his greetings and best wishes to the Emir and the people of Kuwait.

The audience addressed ongoing regional developments, as His Majesty listened to Kuwait’s perspectives on the war and its severe repercussions for regional states and the global economy.

His Majesty affirmed the Sultanate of Oman’s stance on these issues, emphasising the consequent necessity of intensifying efforts to achieve de-escalation, reduce tensions and acts of provocation, and come up with solutions to resolve the crisis at its roots. This, His Majesty noted, would contribute to safeguarding regional security, stability and the well-being of its peoples.

The audience was attended by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, Dr Mohammed Nassir al Hajri, Ambassador of Kuwait to Oman, and Minister Plenipotentiary Abdullah bin Nasser al Obaidi, Assistant Foreign Minister for the Minister of Foreign Affairs Office. - ONA
