IBRI: Al Dhahirah Governorate witnessed a strong wave of community mobilisation, as volunteers, government agencies and private sector entities joined forces to address the impact of recent weather conditions caused by the Al Masarat Depression.

A total of 1,762 participants took part in coordinated field efforts across the wilayats of Ibri, Yanqul and Dhank, as well as surrounding villages. The initiative focused on clearing debris, restoring infrastructure and accelerating recovery to return normalcy across affected areas.

The campaign, carried out in coordination with municipal authorities and governors’ offices, included cleaning main and secondary roads, removing sand and gravel, clearing fallen trees and draining water accumulations.

Teams also addressed damage to road infrastructure using heavy equipment and modern machinery, reflecting the swift response of concerned authorities.

Participants highlighted that the initiative reflects the spirit of solidarity and cooperation that defines Omani society, noting that volunteerism plays a vital role in enhancing safety, protecting the environment and improving quality of life.

The effort saw participation from all age groups, with youth and adults working side by side — demonstrating a strong sense of national responsibility and reinforcing a culture of teamwork and civic engagement.

Officials confirmed that operations will continue in the coming days, with a focus on the most affected areas to speed up recovery and ensure a safe, clean environment.

The initiative stands as a model of effective collaboration between public institutions and the community, underscoring the commitment of Al Dhahirah residents to safeguarding public spaces and responding collectively to challenges.
