AL MUSANNAH: Burj Al Khamis Fort in the Wilayat of Al Musannah, Al Batinah South Governorate, attracted approximately 18,625 visitors during 2025.

This turnout reflects the fort’s growing presence as a tourist destination and the success of marketing efforts in positioning it as a cultural and tourist landmark that blends authenticity with modernity, offering an interactive experience that embodies Omani identity.

Burj Al Khamis Fort is one of the heritage sites in Al Batinah South Governorate that the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has offered for investment to private sector institutions.

This initiative aligns with the Ministry’s efforts to leverage cultural heritage, ensure its sustainability and maximise its benefits by creating direct and indirect employment opportunities, enabling private sector entities — including small and medium enterprises and family businesses — establishing marketing outlets for artisans, enriching domestic tourism and revitalising cultural heritage sites across the Sultanate of Oman. — ONA
