

Muscat: The Ministry of Education has announced the transition to distance learning and the activation of e-learning platforms in several governorates of the Sultanate due to expected weather conditions.
The decision follows a letter issued by the National Emergency Management Center on March 31, 2026, regarding the anticipated impact of a low-pressure system affecting parts of the country.
According to the ministry, distance learning will be implemented on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in all government and private schools, as well as universities and colleges in Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates. The measure will also apply to the wilayats of Al Amerat and Qurayyat in Muscat Governorate.
The ministry stated that normal classes will resume on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
It also urged students and staff to exercise caution and adhere to all instructions and warnings issued by the relevant authorities.
