Muscat:  The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a weather alert warning of heavy rainfall affecting several governorates across the Sultanate starting early Wednesday.

According to the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center, the alert will be in effect from 2:00 am until 10:00 pm on Wednesday, with rainfall of varying intensity expected across Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, the southern parts of Muscat Governorate and the mountainous areas of South Al Batinah.

The authority indicated that the weather conditions may include thunderstorms at times accompanied by fresh winds, with an impact level classified as low to moderate.

The alert highlighted the possibility of runoff in wadis and streams due to rainfall, active winds ranging between 18 and 35 knots (33–46 km/h), and reduced horizontal visibility during rainfall.

The effects are also expected to extend to parts of Muscat, Musandam, Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and Dhofar, where scattered light to moderate rainfall may occur, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms. The impact level in these areas has been classified as low.
