

The search sector of the National Emergency Management Committee said that a citizen was swept away in the Wilayat of Khasab in Musandam Governorate due to the heavy flow of wadis, and she was found dead by search and rescue teams.
The Ministry of Labour has announced the implementation of remote working for employees in both the public and private sectors on Wednesday, in response to ongoing unstable weather conditions affecting different parts of the Sultanate of Oman.
The decision follows alerts issued by the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre regarding forecast of heavy rainfall in a number of governorates, and in line with directives from the National Committee for Emergency Management.
According to the ministry, remote work will apply to units of the civil administrative apparatus of the state and private sector establishments in the governorates of Muscat, Al Batinah North, Al Batinah South, Musandam, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah and Al Sharqiyah North. The move aims to ensure public safety amid the adverse weather conditions currently affecting these regions.
HIGHEST RAINFALL
During the current Al Masarrat depression from Friday until Tuesday, the Wilayat of Bahla has received the highest volume of rainfall in the Sultanate of Oman at 153 mm, followed by the Wilayat of Barka (137 mm) and the Wilayat of Bausher (112 mm).
The data, which was registered by monitoring stations run by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, also showed that the Wilayat of Wadi Al Maawil received 111 mm of rainfall, followed by the Wilayat of Al Musannah at 97 mm and the Wilayat of Al Seeb (96 mm).
Khalid bin Khalifa al Jabri, a meteorologist at the Civil Aviation Authority, said that forecasts for Wednesday indicate a continued influx and formation of thunderclouds with chances of moderate to heavy rainfall of varying intensity. These conditions may be thundery at times, with the potential for hail and the flow of reefs and wadis, with possible rainfall amounts ranging between 30 and 100 mm across the governorates of Musandam, Al Dhahirah, Al Batinah South, Al Batinah North, Al Dakhiliyah, Muscat and Al Sharqiyah North.
