Muscat - Weather charts from the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center indicate heavy thunderstorms expected to occur on Saturday, accompanied by hail and active downdraft winds, resulting from the influence of clouds associated with the weather system.

The effects are set to extend across the governorates of Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, and Muscat, as well as parts of North al Sharqiyah and South al Sharqiyah governorates.

Warnings:

Impact Intensity: Moderate to High.

Rainfall of varying intensity accompanied by hail, leading to flash flooding in wadis.

Downdrafts with speeds ranging from 15 to 35 knots (28 to 46 km/h).

Reduced horizontal visibility during rainfall.

The effects will also extend to parts of the Musandam, Al Wusta, and Dhofar governorates, with scattered rain and sometimes thunderstorms.
The Civil Aviation Authority urged everyone to take precautions during thunderstorms, avoid crossing wadis, stay away from low-lying areas, and refrain from going to sea during the warning period.
