Chaand Raat Bazaar to celebrate Eid preparations

Muscat: Chaand Raat Bazaar, a colourful event that marks the festivities and preparations running up to Eid-ul-Fitr will be held as part of the Women's Day month celebrations at the Al Bahja Hall in Jungle Restaurant on Wednesday and Thursday at 2pm. Entry is free for all nationalities.

Organised by Shaheenz Events & Oevent, hundreds of visitors, predominantly Omani and expatriate women will showcase their artistic skills and scores of women and girls are expected to attend the same till 12 at night.

The 'ChaandRaat Baazaar', which means a colourful event for ladies, is an annual event, part of the celebrations of the various cumunuties residing in Oman that encourages all families to gather at a place and do final rounds of shopping besides discussing their Eid preparations.

The fun-filled family event will also feature various foodstalls, jewelry, clothes, perfumes, ladies and gents wear, painting, henna, amusement shows, kids entertainment, quiz contest and spot prizes.

There will be a henna contest for both professional and amateur henna artists and one can book her henna stall with them and get a chance to win rewards, according to Shaheen, the key organiser.

"Best Henna design incorporting national values and aesthetic design will be rewarded by a key personnel. Also, there will be an exciting giveaway for best stall setup," she said.

There will also be distribution of bangles, henna painting, gifts for kids and delicacies of Asia includijg puri/gol gappa to be served to the attendees throughout the event.

With live mehndi, colourful bangles, antique to modern jewelry besides lots of entertainment and fun and frolic events, the Chaand Raat is expected to add colours to the people getting ready fir Eid ul Fitr.
