The fourth horse race of the season took place on Saturday, November 8, at the Al Rahba racecourse in Barka, organised by the Oman Horse Racing Club under the supervision of the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation. The event attracted a large crowd of enthusiasts and featured an impressive lineup of top riders and elite horses.
The races began at Al Rahba Farm, consisting of eight rounds six for pure Arabian horses and two for thoroughbreds, the event was graced by the presence of Brigadier General Abdulrazzaq bin Abdulqadir al Shehouri, Chairman of the Oman Horse Racing Club, along with several officials and horse owners.
The competition was fierce and filled with excitement, highlighting the high skill levels of the participating jockeys and the growing quality of the stables across the Sultanate of Oman.
In the first race, the horse Al Dastoor claimed first place, ridden by Ahmed bin Salim al Siyabi and trained by Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Balushi, followed by S K Khailan in second and Gwash Al Shahania in third.
The second race saw Amirial Amber clinch the top spot with Amer bin Ali al Rasbi as jockey and Yaqdhan bin Ali al Farsi as trainer, while Dahes finished second and Thayban third.
In the third race, Tarjuman emerged victorious with jockey Moanis bin Salim al Siyabi and trainer Mohammed bin Habib al Balushi, followed by Al Muhtashim and Nibras.
“This win is a great motivation for our team. Tarjuman has shown remarkable development and consistency this season, we dedicate this victory to all who supported us and to the spirit of Omani horse racing that continues to inspire new generations.” Horse owner Hilal bin Sultan al Jabri, owner of Tarjuman, expressed his delight.
The fourth race title went to Light Beam with Abdulrahman bin Talib al Farsi in the saddle and Mohammed bin Salim al Rasbi as trainer, while Always on Fire and Octalgano followed in second and third respectively.
In the fifth race, the mare Yasrah triumphed, ridden by Moanis bin Salim al Siyabi and trained by Mohammed bin Isa al Balushi, with Ruslan and Al Adaaj taking second and third.
The sixth race was dominated by the colt Al Eqab, guided by Ibrahim bin Khamis al Hinai and trained by Kahlan bin Mohammed al Balushi, while Aman came second and Lami’a third.
In the seventh race, I S Al Ameid secured the win for jockey Mohammed bin Mahmoud al Farsi and trainer Hassan bin Mohammed al Falahi, with Jameheen second and Rajeh Muscat third.
The grand finale the eighth and final race, also known as the Champions’ Race witnessed a spectacular performance by Hareeb, ridden by Amer bin Ali al Rasbi and trained by Marwan bin Darwish al Balushi, taking first place. Djalnoor and Mador finished second and third respectively.
“Winning the Champions’ Race means a lot, it reflects the hard work and harmony between the jockey and the entire team. We dedicate this victory to our supporters.” Trainer Marwan bin Darwish al Balushi expressed his joy said.
“The competition was intense, but the spirit of sportsmanship prevailed. It’s a promising season with exceptional organisation and strong performances across all levels.” Jockey Anas bin Salim al Siyabi added:
