The Public Prosecution (PP) has warned that some individuals have been using firecrackers and fireworks, especially in residential neighborhoods.

"To preserve public peace and the safety of citizens and residents, everyone should abide by applicable laws and regulations and to refrain from any practices that could disrupt public order, disturb others, or endanger their safety," the Prosecution said.

It has been observed recently that some individuals have been using firecrackers (fireworks), particularly in residential areas.

Furthermore, some individuals have been observed installing non-compliant exhaust systems on vehicles and driving them on the roads. This results in loud and disturbing noises that disrupt the peace of residents, constituting a violation of Article (25) of the Weapons and Ammunition Law and Article (49), Paragraphs (5) and (7) of the Traffic Law

In light of these practices, the Public Prosecution affirmed its commitment to taking firm legal action against the perpetrators, bringing them to justice, and demanding the imposition of the most severe penalties prescribed by law.

Roya Oman Police (ROP) also warned that Firecrackers and fireworks are a danger to life and property and an offense punishable by law.

Firing firearms at social and religious occasions is considered a violation of the Weapons and Ammunition Law No. (90/36), due to the risks this phenomenon poses to public safety.
