Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Monday received a telephone call from President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

During the call, they exchanged views regarding the developments of the ongoing war in the region and its grave implications.

The two sides underscored the importance of halting the cycle of conflict, preventing further escalation and giving primacy to the language of dialogue and diplomacy so that security and peace may prevail throughout the region and the world.
