MUSCAT: Approximately 200 blood donors are needed daily to meet the demand.

The Ministry of Health has issued a plea to the public to donate blood due to a severe shortage in blood unit stock.

"We urgently call upon you to donate blood," stated the ministry.

According to the appeal, more than 200 donors are needed each day to ensure a continuous supply of blood units for various medical cases. The ministry has urged everyone to take the initiative and donate at specific locations.

For fasting donors, the timing is from 7.00 pm to 11.30 pm at the Central Blood Bank in Bausher daily and Al Seeb Blood Donation Centre from Sunday to Thursday. For non-fasting donors, the days to donate are Sunday to Thursday, from 8 am to 12.30 pm, at Central Blood Bank in Bausher.

CMYF BLOOD CAMP ON FRIDAY

Chiru Mega Youth Force (CMYF), a voluntary organisation, is organising a blood camp on Friday at the Central Blood Bank in Bausher.

CMYF founder-president Ramdas Chandaka called upon all humanitarians to participate in this noble cause of saving others' lives. "I call upon people to turn up in big numbers. The campaign will help boost blood stock," he said.
