MUSCAT: Al Nahda secured an important 1–0 victory over Oman Club in the postponed match from the sixth round of the Jindal League, held at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher. The win earned Al Nahda three valuable points, raising their tally to 28 points in fifth place, while Oman Club remained on 21 points in seventh place.

The match began at a relatively calm pace, with both teams exchanging passes in midfield. Al Nahda attempted early to deliver balls into the penalty area, but Oman’s defence managed to clear the initial threats.

As the match progressed, Al Nahda gradually increased their attacking intensity. Abdulaziz al Shamousi fired a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, which was deflected for a corner kick. The corner, taken by Ahed al Mashaykhi, reached Mohammed al Habsi, who struck a strong shot that rebounded off the defence, before Oman goalkeeper Abdulaziz al Hosni cleared another ball for a corner in the 12th minute.

Oman Club nearly opened the scoring in the 25th minute when the ball reached Husni al Hinai inside the penalty area, but his shot went wide of the right post. In the 30th minute, Omar al Hosni unleashed a powerful strike that was brilliantly saved by Al Nahda goalkeeper Faiz al Rushaidi.

Late in the first half, the referee awarded a penalty to Al Nahda before overturning the decision after consulting with the assistant referee in the 44th minute, leaving the first half to end in a goalless draw.

KEY SUBSTITUTION

The tempo increased slightly in the second half. Azzan al Tamimi tested the Oman goalkeeper with a strong shot in the 49th minute. Oman Club came close to scoring in the 61st minute when Walid al Saleemi broke through on goal, but Fayez al Rushaidi produced an excellent save and then denied Yazid al Rawahi on the rebound.

Both teams made several substitutions to refresh their squads. Al Nahda’s coach introduced Iraqi professional Amir Alaa in the 66th minute, a substitution that ultimately proved decisive. In the 82nd minute, Al Nahda scored the winning goal when Harib al Saadi struck a shot inside the box, which Amir Alaa redirected with a quick touch into the net.

Then Oman Club intensified their pressure in search of an equaliser. Majid al Balushi nearly scored with a header in the 87th minute, but Fayez al Rushaidi pushed it away for a corner. Oman continued pressing during the four minutes of added time, but the score remained unchanged as the referee blew the final whistle, confirming Al Nahda’s 1–0 victory.
