

MUSCAT: Al Amerat Club secured an important 71–61 victory over Seeb Club in the preliminary round of the 2025–2026 Youth Basketball League. The match was held at the sub-hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher and featured noticeable shifts in momentum across the four quarters. With the win, Al Amerat raised their tally to 6 points from three matches, while Al Seeb remained on 4 points.
Several Al Amerat players delivered standout performances that proved decisive, with scoring led by Noah Bink, Mazin al Owaisi, Hamood al Maashari, and Ibrahim al Balushi. On the other side, Azzan al Ajmi, Jaid al Kindi, and Azd al Bahlani were prominent for Seeb as they attempted to close the gap and fight their way back into the contest.
The game began with clear competitiveness, as both teams exchanged quick offensive plays in search of an early advantage. Al Seeb held a slight edge through structured half-court offence and drives to the basket, capitalising on off-ball movement. Al Amerat responded with fast breaks and transition play, but Al Seeb finished the first quarter ahead 18–16.
Al Amerat turned the game around in the second quarter by increasing defensive pressure and closing down passing lanes, forcing Al Seeb into multiple turnovers. They capitalised on these through fast breaks and easy finishes near the rim, along with strong offensive rebounding that created second-chance points. With clear offensive rhythm and efficiency, Al Amerat scored 29 points compared to Al Seeb’s 9, heading into halftime with a commanding 45–27 lead.
Al Seeb returned stronger after the break, improving defensively and showing greater composure in finishing possessions. A run of consecutive baskets helped them cut into the deficit, scoring 17 points in the third quarter. However, Al Amerat managed the pressure calmly, controlling tempo and ball movement to limit mistakes, adding 8 points to maintain their lead. The third quarter ended with Al Amerat ahead 53–44.
Both teams entered the final quarter at a high tempo, with Al Seeb pushing through aggressive defence and quick transitions to narrow the margin. Al Amerat focused on ball control and capitalising on key scoring opportunities in decisive moments. They added 18 points to Seeb’s 17, preserving a safe margin until the final buzzer to seal the 71–61 victory.
The match was officiated by international referees Thani al Khalasi, Wafaa al Samri, and Ali al Sulaimani. The score table officials were Omaima al Hajri, Al Baraa al Hashemi, and Hafez Awlad Ahmed.
