In confirmation of the statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Saturday regarding the joint military operations launched by Israel and the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and its warnings of the danger of expanding the conflict in the region, the Sultanate of Oman calls in the strongest terms for the necessity of stopping the attacks and missile strikes against sites in the countries of the region, including the territories of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq and Jordan.

The Sultanate of Oman expressed its condemnation and denunciation of everything that violates the rules of international law and undermines the security and stability of the region and the safety of its peoples, calling for recourse to dialogue and diplomacy, which is the only way to ensure the resolution of disputes and the preservation of the legitimate rights of all parties.

Oman has also expressed its profound dismay over the military operations being launched by Israel and the US against the Islamic Republic of Iran, cautioning against the peril of the conflict escalating into unforeseeable consequences throughout the region.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, the Sultanate of Oman affirmed that this action constitutes a violation of the rules of international law and the principle of settling disputes through peaceful means, rather than through hostility and bloodshed. It called upon all parties to immediately cease military operations, and urged the United Nations Security Council to convene an emergency session to impose a ceasefire and for the international community to assume an unequivocal stance in support of international law.

The Sultanate of Oman reaffirmed the right of states to self-defence under international law, while simultaneously urging restraint and adherence to diplomatic solutions.

Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, expressed his dismay at the undermining of active and serious negotiations between the United States and Iran once again, calling on Washington not to be drawn further into this war as it does not serve its interests and harms global peace.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army said around 200 fighter jets took part in an 'extensive attack' on military targets in Iran on Saturday, saying the air raids were the largest in the air force's history.

"Since this morning, approximately 200 fighter jets... completed an extensive attack against the missile array and the defence systems in western and central Iran. This is the largest military air raid in the history of the Israeli Air Force," a military statement said.

"Fighter jets dropped hundreds of munitions targeting approximately 500 objectives, including aerial defence systems and missile launchers," it added.
