MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued Royal Decree on Thursday, establishing the Youth Centre and its regulations. This highlights the Royal interest in youth, emphasises their essential role in building and developing Oman and aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

The issuance of this decree is part of ensuring the governance of youth work within a clear institutional framework that defines responsibilities, organises roles and promotes sustainability. This will enable the Youth Centre to fulfil its national role in nurturing young talent, developing their skills, and creating environments conducive to creativity and innovation.

Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, stated that the Royal Decree is a cornerstone for an advanced stage of the Center's work, based on the integration of roles, enhanced sustainability, and a well-planned strategic expansion across the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. This expansion takes into account the comparative and competitive advantages of each governorate and considers the interests and aspirations of its youth, in line with the vision established by HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.

He explained that the Centre guides youth work within an organized institutional framework, reinforcing national roles in nurturing young people, developing their capabilities, expanding opportunities for creativity and innovation, discovering and cultivating their talents, and opening effective communication channels that listen to their aspirations, understand their needs and contribute to guiding relevant programmes and policies. Since its inception, the Centre has proven that investing in youth potential is a winning strategy, as evidenced by the high-quality programmes, stimulating workspaces, and strategic partnerships it has offered. These initiatives have increased youth participation and instilled in them the principles of excellence and initiative.

He emphasised the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth's commitment to diligently working with its strategic partners from the public and private sectors to activate this national project, making it a comprehensive youth platform that fosters ambition, nurtures creativity and opens practical pathways for young people to transform their ideas into tangible initiatives with a sustainable national impact.
