Manama: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik arrived in the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the 46th Summit of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). His Majesty was warmly received at the airport by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, who led the welcoming delegation.
Upon arrival, His Majesty passed between two rows of the Bahraini Royal Guard in an official honour ceremony. He then exchanged greetings with senior Bahraini officials, while His Royal Highness greeted members of the Sultanate’s accompanying delegation.
Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa escorted His Majesty to the reception hall, where he extended renewed and heartfelt greetings, welcoming His Majesty to what he described as his second home. His Majesty expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to him by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
His Majesty was then accompanied by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to the Sakhir Palace Guesthouse, where His Majesty will reside during the summit.
On the sidelines of the summit, His Majesty met with the Prime Minister of the Italian Republic at his residence in Manama. The meeting reviewed the existing areas of cooperation between Oman and Italy and explored opportunities to further strengthen their partnership across various sectors.
The visit reflects the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Oman and Bahrain and underscores His Majesty’s commitment to further strengthening GCC cooperation and unity.
