The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and Water Resources on Wednesday announced the completion of the project of establishing and operating the artificial rainfall station in Musandam Governorate in the province of Khasab, to enhance the amount of rainfall, and the development of groundwater resources.
The area of its impact is the areas surrounding the site in the northwest and south directions, up to a distance of 70 kilometers, according to the geographical data and the prevailing weather conditions, which contribute to raising the chances of cloud formation and stimulating rainfall in the targeted areas.
This project is part of the artificial rainfall system based on ion technology, which promotes cloud condensation processes and increases the chances of precipitation.
There are 14 stations, including 11 stations distributed on the eastern and western Hajar mountains, in addition to a station in Musandam Governorate, and two stations in the mountains of Dhofar Governorate.
