Thrilling wins at Al Rahba’s 17th equestrian race meet

The Oman Equestrian Federation and Racing organised the 17th race meeting of the 2025/2026 season at Al Rahba Racecourse in the Wilayat of Barka, featuring a distinguished lineup of Arabian and Thoroughbred horses across eight competitive races named after renowned Omani caves and landmarks.


In the opening race, “Kahf Tiq,” Wahaj Al Wafi secured first place for owner Abdullah bin Salim al Rasbi with a strong finishing run.

The second race, “Kahf Al Kattan,” saw Ammar Malik, owned by Abdulrahman bin Yousuf al Balushi, claim top honours following a composed and confident performance.


Race three, “Kahf Jarnan,” for Purebred Arabians over 2,000 metres, was won by Mutashaddidah, owned by Husni bin Mubarak al Abri, trained by Sultan bin Mohammed al Balushi and ridden by Tariq bin Ibrahim al Azri, after a tactically sound display over the longer distance.


In race four, “Kahf Al Maql,” a 2000-metre Thoroughbred contest, Agreet Did triumphed for owner Muneer bin Taib al Rasbi, trained by Hisham bin Zayed al Rasbi and ridden by Yahya bin Juma al Hamadani.


Race five, “Kahf Al Marnif,” over 1600 metres for Thoroughbreds, was won by Jareelt Alaska, owned by Naji bin Khamis al Araimi, trained by Mousa bin Mohammed al Balushi and ridden by Issa bin Mohammed al Balushi.

The sixth race, “Kahf Al Hoota,” for Purebred Arabians over 1,600 metres, was claimed by Al Asef S B, owned by Abdullah bin Khamis al Maskari, trained by Ahmed bin Salim al Abrawi and ridden by Al Mutasim bin Said al Balushi.


In the seventh race, the “Sarhan Cup” for Purebred Arabians over 1600 metres and sponsored by Marbat Al Reef Stud, Ibraaz Malik secured victory for owner Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Abdulrahman, trained by Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Balushi and ridden by Hamad bin Sultan al Malki.


The meeting concluded with race eight, “Kahf Majlis Al Jinn,” over 1,600 metres for Purebred Arabians, where Izmir De Carrier, also owned by Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Abdulrahman and trained by Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Balushi, claimed first place under jockey Adam bin Talib al Balushi, bringing an exciting day of racing to a fitting close.
