Barka: Sayyid Tariq bin Mahmoud al Busaidy, Wali of Barka, received at his office a package of community initiatives launched by Barka Desalination Company in conjunction with Ramadhan and in preparation for Eid Al Fitr.

The initiatives were presented during a meeting attended by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Asem bin Mohammed al Rashidi; Dr Saleh bin Hamad al Alawi, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility; Abdul Latif bin Mohammed al Farsi, Chairman of the Zakat and Charitable Committee in the wilayat; and Khalid bin Mohammed al Harthy, Deputy Head of Barka Voluntary Team.

Sayyid Tariq commended the company’s commitment to social responsibility, noting that such initiatives reflect the spirit of solidarity and compassion that characterise Ramadhan. He emphasised that coordinated community efforts contribute to strengthening social cohesion and alleviating burdens on low-income families, particularly during Ramadhan and Eid. Asem bin Mohammed al Rashidi stated that Ramadhan initiatives stem from the company’s firm belief in its social responsibility and its commitment to delivering sustainable and meaningful contributions to the local community.

He explained that the company adopts a clear vision aimed at engaging various segments of society through specialised programmes, particularly in the fields of health, education and innovation, in addition to seasonal initiatives targeting the most vulnerable groups. This year’s initiatives include the “Iftar Saem” programme, which provides daily Iftar meals for low-income families and workers, as well as Eid support for orphans through financial and in-kind assistance to help them celebrate the occasion with dignity and joy.
