AL RUSTAQ: The laryngology team at Al Rustaq Hospital, in collaboration with the anesthesia and pediatric intensive care teams, successfully performed a complex endoscopic surgery on a 6-year-old child who had been suffering from chronic choking and aspiration episodes along with ho

 

Medical examinations revealed that the symptoms were caused by a congenital cyst at the base of the tongue, which had completely obstructed the laryngeal passage necessitating surgical intervention.

 

The operation, performed without the need for a tracheotomy, constituted a medical achievement that reflects the competence of the staff and the integrated efforts of the medical teams. The medical team confirmed that the child has completed four months after recovery and is in stable and his health condition has improved significantly. This success embodies the spirit of teamwork and the commitment to providing advanced healthcare.
