MUSCAT: The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat successfully organised a programme promoting export, trade and investment opportunities between Nepal and Oman on February 13, at Nepal House, Muscat. The event brought together Nepali business leaders, entrepreneurs and community representatives for presentations, experience-sharing and interactive discussions, followed by networking opportunities.

Dornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal to Oman, who inaugurated the event, underscored the importance of trade and investment in strengthening bilateral ties between Nepal and Oman. He encouraged participants to explore emerging business prospects in both countries and outlined the Government of Nepal’s priorities in attracting foreign investment.

On the occasion, Dornath also expressed appreciation to the NRN Nepali Social Club, other Nepali organisations, businesspersons and artists for their active participation in the month-long Muscat Night Festivals held in January at Al Qurum Natural Park. The Embassy participated in the festival with nine stalls showcasing Nepali products and cuisine, providing a vibrant platform to promote Nepali businesses. The festival drew more than two million visitors.

The programme featured presentations and insights from prominent community members, including Suresh Khadka, D B Chhetri, Bikal Jha, Gautam Shrestha, Jeevan Karki, Yubaraj Acharya and Subhash Kafle. Speakers shared practical experiences, success stories and challenges in trade and investment across various sectors in Nepal and Oman. They highlighted key considerations for aspiring entrepreneurs and called for stronger collaboration within the Nepali business community.

Gautam Shrestha delivered a focused presentation on stock market investment, encouraging Nepalis to explore opportunities in both Nepal and Oman. An interactive session allowed participants to engage directly with speakers and Embassy officials on export-import procedures, business prospects and investment strategies. The event concluded with networking among participants, who expressed appreciation for the informative and engaging format.

The Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating business linkages and promoting trade and investment through similar initiatives in the future. Bishesh Kumar Sah, First Secretary at the Embassy moderated the programme.
