Muscat: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) has warned that some companies are using the image of the national currency for advertising and promotional purposes without obtaining the approval of the Central Bank of Oman
As per Article 43 of the Banking Law issued under Royal Decree No. 2/2025, the use of the Sultanate of Oman's currency for any purpose other than its use as a final settlement legal tender is an infringement on the rights of the Central Bank of Oman.
Accordingly, companies shall refrain from using the image of the currency as advertising material.
