Sayyid Badr welcomes Belgium's plans to open an embassy in Oman

A telephone call took place between Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister, and Maxime Prévost, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of Belgium, within the framework of the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

During the call, Sayyid Badr welcomed the Belgian government’s decision to open an embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in the Sultanate of Oman.

In November 2025, Belgium announced the opening of new embassies in Tirana (Albania), Windhoek (Namibia), Muscat (Oman), and Tashkent (Uzbekistan).

The two ministers discussed a number of recent developments and exchanged views on them.

The Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister expressed his country's support for Omani mediation efforts and all diplomatic avenues aimed at achieving security and stability
