

MUSCAT: 'Huboob Muscat' was crowned the champion for the Al Buraimi Endurance Race in the Wilayat of Al Buraimi on Thursday.
The event, which was organised by the Oman Equestrian Federation, was held under the auspices by Sayyid Dr Hamad bin Ahmed al Busaidy, Governor of Al Buraimi.
The competitions displaying high levels of fitness and preparation, reflecting the growing development of horse racing in Oman and the continued support for the sport across various governorates.
The race covered a total distance of 100 km, divided into three stages: 35 km for the first stage, 35 km for the second, and 30 km for the final stage.
'Huboob Muscat' ridden by Mahmoud bin Said al Saeedi and trained by Muscat Stud, delivered a balanced and strategic performance throughout the race stages.
'RB Magic Man' snatched the second place, ridden by Hood bin Ghalib al Foori and trained by Ahmed bin Salim al Kalbani, after a strong challenge in the final stages.
'Angie Aswan Arabi' finished third, ridden by Abdulrahman bin Khalid al Zadjali and trained by Mohannad bin Ibrahim al Balushi .
Hood al Foori, second place winner, expressed satisfaction with second place, “The race was very well organised, and the level of competition was high. We thank Al Buraimi Governorate for its continuous support of endurance racing, and we aim for first place in upcoming events.”
Abdulrahman al Zadjali noted that, "The race was highly competitive, emphasising the importance of managing pace and maintaining the horse’s condition. Finishing third is motivates us to continue improving in future competitions."
Mohannad al Balushi, trainer of 'Angie Aswan Arabi' , praised the professional level of the event, “This race reflects the development of endurance sport in Oman. We are proud of the performance delivered by our riders and horses.”
The governor honoured the top winners, commended the organisers and reaffirmed the governorate’s commitment to supporting sporting activities that contribute to athletic development.
