

Muscat: Al Bashayer Club secured a deserved 79–52 victory over Nizwa Club in the Al Dakhiliyah derby, as part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Basketball Shield for the 2026 season, while Salalah Club maintained their momentum with an important 62–42 win against Masirah Club. Both matches were held at the sub-hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher on Tuesday.
With these results, Al Bashayer raised their tally to 4 points from two games, Nizwa moved to 4 points from three games and Salalah also reached 4 points from three matches.
AL BASHAYER TURN THE TABLE
The first game began evenly, with Nizwa edging the opening quarter 19–17. However, Al Bashayer returned stronger in the second quarter, adjusting their tactics and raising their intensity. They overturned the deficit by scoring 22 points to Nizwa’s 12, taking a 39–31 lead into half-time.
Al Bashayer continued their offensive pressure in the third quarter, capitalising on fast transitions and court control to widen the gap significantly, adding 27 points compared to Nizwa’s 11, ending the period 66–42.
In the final quarter, Al Bashayer managed the game confidently, adding 13 points against 10, to complete a commanding 79–52 victory.
The match was officiated by international referee Issam al Siyabi (first referee), Mazin al Hilali (second), and Taha al Ameri (third). Table officials included Maryam al Zadjali, Salama al Ghailani and Hafez Awlad Ahmed.
SALALAH DOMINATE MASIRAH
In the second match, Salalah delivered a strong all-round performance to defeat Masirah 62–42, controlling both offence and defence and winning all four quarters.
Salalah started sharply, taking the first quarter 14–9, then extended their advantage in the second by scoring 21 points to Masirah’s 12, heading into halftime with a 35–21 lead.
They maintained their superiority in the third quarter, adding 14 points against 11 to make it 49–32, before closing out the game in the fourth with 13 points to Masirah’s 10.
Qaisar al Balushi and Masoud Hashmi stood out for Salalah, while Omar al Hassani and Abdulsalam al Khusaibi were the most notable performers for Masirah.
The game was officiated by international referee Rashid al Mushaifri (first referee), Al Mahdi al Alawi (second), and international Thani al Khalasi (third), with table officials Omaima al Hajri, Mahmoud al Ajmi and Yaqoub al Nadabi.
