

Muscat: As part of the promotional build-up to the final of the His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup Football Championship, the prestigious trophy is touring several wilayats of Muscat Governorate in a community-focused initiative aimed at bringing the event closer to football fans and enhancing public engagement ahead of the showpiece match.
The trophy tour began in Muttrah on February 7, before moving to Bausher on February 8, followed by Muscat on February 9. The tour continues to Al Seeb on February 10 and Al Amerat on February 11, before concluding in Qurayat on February 12, 2026, giving supporters across the governorate the opportunity to view the trophy and capture memorable moments.
The Sultan’s Cup final is scheduled to take place on February 14 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, under the auspices of HH Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham al Said, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat. The eagerly awaited final will bring together Al Nahda Club and Oman Club in what is expected to be a highly competitive encounter.
Meanwhile, the Oman Football Association has appointed international referee Qasim al Hatmi to officiate the final. He will be assisted by Rashid al Ghaithi and Omar al Alawi, with Ali al Ajmi named as the fourth official.
The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) team will be led by Mohammed al Manai, assisted by Jassim al Ameri, while Ahmed Jameel Bait Jameel will serve as the fifth official. Ali al Shukairi has been appointed as the referees’ assessor.
The organisation of the trophy tour, alongside the selection of an experienced officiating team, underlines the importance of the HM Cup final, widely regarded as the pinnacle of domestic football in the Sultanate, with a strong turnout expected for a fitting climax to the season.
