MUSCAT: Leading international multidisciplinary engineering and architecture firm F&M marked ten years of operations in the Sultanate of Oman with a high-level celebration held recently at Al Bustan Palace, Muscat, under the auspices of Dr Khalfan bin Said Al Shueili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning. The event brought together more than 400 distinguished guests, including government representatives, clients, partners and international stakeholders.

The evening was attended by F&M International leadership and partners, including Hazem Abdul Karim, CEO and Managing Partner of F&M International; Board Directors Jean-Pierre Jelwan and Haneen Hammoudeh; Salim Ba Omar, Partner at F&M Middle East; and representatives of F&M Ingegneria SpA, including Founder and President Sandro Favero, together with partners Federico Zaggia and Tommaso Tassi. The event was further honoured by the presence of Pierluigi D’Elia, Ambassador of Italy to the Sultanate of Oman, reflecting the group’s Italian heritage.

The ceremony celebrated a decade of contribution in Oman and formally marked the launch of F&M International, the group’s international coordination platform, with Oman positioned as its regional headquarters and power base.

Founded in Italy in 1978, F&M Ingegneria has over 45 years of experience and a strong international track record. The establishment of F&M Middle East in Oman represented a strategic expansion of a solid and well-established organisation, bringing international expertise, integrated methodologies and long-term vision to the Sultanate.

Speaking during the event, Hazem Abdul Karim, CEO and Managing Partner of F&M International, said: “Celebrating ten years in Oman is a moment of pride and gratitude. What we have built here is the result of trust, resilience and long-term partnerships. Oman has been our home, our foundation and today our power base for international growth.

With the launch of F&M International, we are reinforcing Oman’s role as our regional headquarters and power base. From here, we coordinate a network of offices and licensed operations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and the UK, where we deliver projects regionally, while also delivering projects beyond the region, including Georgia, Pakistan and the Maldives, among others.”

Two strategic signing ceremonies took place during the event. An agreement for Neighbourhood 6 at A’Athurayya City was signed with Tathmeer, represented by Abdulrahim Al Kharusi, Chairman of Tathmeer, together with the Tathmeer team.

A second partnership agreement was signed with VA Group for the Mutrah Waterfront project, represented by Roman Kapinos, Managing Partner of VA Group, together with the VA Group team, reinforcing F&M’s role in supporting key urban developments in Oman.

Through its work in Oman and across the region, F&M continues to support sustainable and future-ready development, combining multidisciplinary expertise, innovation and strong local engagement.
