MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the SMEs Development Authority ‘Riyada’, concluded the "Future Pioneers School Challenge" for schools in the Muscat Governorate. The competition, which targeted students in grades 7 to 9, was held as part of ongoing efforts to foster a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation during early educational stages.

The challenge aimed to develop students' skills in innovation and creativity, qualifying them to establish entrepreneurial projects that align with labour market requirements. It also introduced the fundamentals of marketing, value creation, smart financial management concepts, the preparation of simplified business models and preliminary feasibility studies, while enhancing presentation, persuasion, and communication skills through workshops and practical activities.

A total of 105 students and supervisors representing 15 schools in Muscat Governorate participated in the competition, resulting in the submission of 20 entrepreneurial projects across several sectors. These included the circular economy, health, technology, education, agriculture, "blue oceans", tourism and handicrafts. — ONA
